Author’s Reflection
“Coming Home”
“Coming Home” was written from the part of me that is still searching for peace after surviving so much pain. It is about the long road back to yourself after trauma, heartbreak, loss, and years of feeling like you were living outside of your own body. Sometimes coming home is not about a place. Sometimes it is about finding your way back to the person you were before the world broke pieces of you.
This song carries a different kind of darkness. It is not only about the pain I have lived through, but also about the hope that maybe I can still belong to myself again. After everything I have carried, there are moments when I feel lost, like I have been walking through life with no real shelter inside me. “Coming Home” is my way of saying I am tired of running from my own heart.
Writing this song felt like reaching for healing, even if I am not fully there yet. It is about wanting rest. Wanting safety. Wanting to breathe without feeling haunted. It is about looking at all the broken roads behind me and still believing there might be a place ahead where my soul can finally sit down and stop fighting.
“Coming Home” is for anyone who has ever felt disconnected from themselves. For anyone who has survived things that changed them. For anyone who is trying to rebuild a life from ashes, memories, and scars. It is a reminder that healing does not always happen all at once. Sometimes it happens one step, one breath, one song at a time.
This song is my promise to myself that I have not given up. I may still be wounded, but I am still walking. I may still carry ghosts, but I am still looking for light. And maybe, after all this time, coming home means finally choosing to love the person I became in order to survive.
